Locomotion Commotion!

Back by popular demand! Bring your favorite set of wheels for an afternoon of fun! This event will feature a bicycle derby, touch-a-truck experience and much more. Kids (and grown ups!) of all ages and skill levels are invited. There will be stations to decorate your bike, get your bike and helmet checked for safety, meet our Swissvale Police Bicycle Officers, and ride an obstacle course! Free helmets will be available for riders thanks to Toys for Pittsburgh Tikes and the Swissvale Police Department! All size wheels are welcome!

Some BIG wheels will be on hand for the Touch-A-Truck experience! NEW THIS YEAR—a UH60 Blackhawk helicopter will be onsite! Other vehicles will include Fire Engines, Police Cars, Public Works vehicles, Allegheny County SWAT and Emergency Command Center, Eastern Area Prehospital Services Ambulance, Culgan’s Tow Trucks and even some electric vehicles! 

We'll even have a book station available for participants to take a break and enjoy some good transportation-focused stories!

This event is planned in partnership with the Swissvale Borough.
